The RX100 iii surprised me this weekend when I tried using it to shoots some sports. Usually I use my A77ii, but I hadn’t brought it. Seeing as I almost always carry the RX100 with me, I tried using it to capture a volleyball serve.
I had the camera on manual, set the aperture at f/2.8 and the shutterspeed at 1/320. I let AutoISO take care of the rest. Well, lo and behold, it took some pretty great shots! The lens may not have the reach of a 70-200mm but the camera does a great job.
They say the best camera is the one you carry with you. That was proven right this weekend.
