Wow! Such progress by Sony in the past few years. They have gone from being perceived as a dilettante in the camera world to one of the world leaders. A technology company that bought Minolta’s camera business and turned it into one of the best camera brands in the world.
I was a Minolta shooter since the mid 1970’s. When the brand was purchased by Sony I was happy but skeptical. All my friends had Nikons and Canons and I was the odd man out using what they saw as amateurish gear. Today, I know I’m using some of the best gear in the world. I’m not a fan boy. I really like all camera brands, and each has features that I’d want to work with. But, I have to admit to a certain sense of pride knowing that my gear is up to par with the best. Yeah, ego and dumb pride.
But it brings me a smile nonetheless.
